I'm Tickled Pink (Grapefruit) with The Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter

The icy bite of winter not only affects your skin, but also takes a toll on your precious pucker. While us ladies frantically slather on hydrating lotions and creams to our flaking skin, we often neglect our lips that beg for the slightest bit of moisture. On my quest for the perfect lip balm (yet to be completed), I came across The Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter ($6.00) on yet another adventure with my best amiga, Ann (not-justapretty-face.blogspot.com) The creamy texture (after some mistreatment) and zesty citrus aroma brought back fond memories of basking in the warm sunshine just this summer.

Lancome Holiday!

It may only be October 28th, but parents and children alike are counting down the days to Christmas. Lucky for us beauty fanatics, the holidays comes early in the world of beauty and fashion. Sets are released in late September and October, and sell out by the time December 25th actually arrives. I guess you could call Lancome  a "late-bloomer", for it just recently launched its glamorous collection of holiday products. Take a look:

That sums it up for Lancome's newest Holiday items! I'm a bit disappointed to Lancome's packaging this year, especially compared to MAC Glitter & Ice (Snow Globe Compacts?!). The shades, however are more to my liking. They may not include the most "holiday-ish" palette of hues, but they are buildable classics that aren't just reserved for winter. As for my favorite set, I can't stop dreaming about the Juicy Tubes set. I've had many pleasant experiences with this gloss, and I cannot wait to get it for a steal!
What's your favorite?

Getting Glossy with Clinique's Fall in Love With Colour Set

Out of the entire Clinique Fall in Love With Colour Set ($42.00), the two glosses are my favorite (well, at least one is...:D).

In this set you'll find Clinique Long Last Glazewear in Sunset and Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Currant along with many other items.

Chocolate for Your Lips, Not Your Mouth!

While alternating between Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and November's issue of Allure, I discovered Jane Iredale's Chocoholicks: a palette of four succulent glosses that carry the aromas of various chocolates."A compact with four irresistable chocolate-y shades in one compact to create a range of day and night looks. It's housed in a sleeved, slim palette for optimal portability and includes a retractable gold lip brush to ensure precise application and clean storage. Four shades and flavors of hydrating glosses provide a delicious array of options of your lips and your palate."

Get "Just Ate a Popsicle" Lips in the Winter with Nivea a Kiss of Flavor in Cherry!

I
f it weren't for coupons, I would've not been talking about this lovely lip balm for you today. A few weeks ago, I discovered a $3 off coupon for two Nivea lip items. After a little research and cutting, I finally went to RiteAid to stock up. With the deals I was getting, I purchased two lip balms and only paid $2 instead of the regular $6 for two. Oh, coupons...

Bee-utiful Treats: Part 1

Just this morning, my bestie Ann (www.not-justapretty-face.blogspot.com) and I treated ourselves to an adorable set by Burt's Bees: Bee-utiful Treats. This CVS exclusive contains a mini Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream or Hand Salve and a full-size lip balm. I picked up the Pomegranate Set, which featured Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and Pomegranate lip balm. Since there are two products, I'm going to review this set with two posts. This post's topic: the Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

PRICE: $6 regularly. The set is $4.99

PROS
  • It's very creamy!
  • Smells like lemon drop candy
  • All-natural
  • Not tested on animals
  • Moisturizes and conditions cuticles and nails
  • Actually helps with my peeling nails
CONS
  • I'm often tempted to eat it. Dead serious.
  • Others will do anything to sniff it. (This is how my 2nd tin of this disappeared)
Where to buy the set
  • CVS
Where to buy the full-size cuticle cream
  • RiteAid
  • CVS
  • Walgreen's
  • Other drugstores
Would I repurchase
This is my third time purchasing this. Isn't it obvious?

C Me Frown: Yes To Carrots C Me Smile Citrus Lip Butter

For a long time I have been wanting anything by "Yes To Carrots". Today, I finally mustered up the courage to actually spend some money. For $2.99, I picked up a bright Yes To Carrots C Me Smile Citrus Lip Butter. Well, thank goodness I also picked up a pack of Rainbow Mentos, for if I hadn't, you would C Me Frown! The moment this balm touched my lips I was filled with disappointment. There was no energizing citrus scent or aroma whatsoever, despite the fact that in contained many natural fruit oils. In fact, it had a horrible taste (and an iffy smell). The balm was kind of creamy, but not enough to make up for its horrible taste and smell. It was actually quite moisturizing. I am familiar with many balms that do a great job, though, so it's not that amazing. I most definitely will not be repurchasing this flavor again. I might give Berry a chance..MIGHT.

INGREDIENTS: COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL*, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL*, BEESWAX*, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL*, LIMONENE*, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL*, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPEFRUIT) PEEL OIL, TOCOPHEROL, CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) OIL, CITRAL, CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL EXTRACT, CUCUMIS MELO CANTALUPENSIS (MELON) SEED EXTRACT, CUCURBITA PEPO (PUMPKIN) SEED EXTRACT, DAUCUS CAROTA SATIVA (CARROT) ROOT EXTRACT*, LINALOOL.

^See?! So many fruit oils, so little flavor!

Price: $2.99 for 0.15oz

Pros
  • Slightly creamy
  • Moisturizing (Average)
Cons
  • Has a horrible taste
  • Costs as much as the amazing Burt's Bees Balms
  • Has no Citrus aroma whatsoever
  • Has no Citrus taste whatsoever
You make like this if....
  • You already love Yes To Carrots Lip Butter
  • You have no tastebuds :D
You may dislike this if...
  • You're a normal human being
  • You hate Yes To Carrots Lip Butter
  • You want a good-tasting lip balm
  • You want an actual Citrus lip balm
