Almost Lipstick has siblings!

Woah. January 4th! I apologize for slacking with the posts. I've been occupied with procrastination, school, and well...laziness. But, I AM HERE NOW, posting. :D As for now, I would like to discuss the bringing back of Almost Lipstick's new shades. But before I start, I have a story:

It was late October, and I had been lusting for a Clinique bonus, which featured a sample of their Chubby Stick. With fourty dollars in hand, I wandered around the series of Clinique counters, trying to decide on my purchase. As I swatched the gold-infused strawberry shadow, I overheard an elderly woman requesting a product with a Clinique consultant.

"I would like to repurchase the Almost Lipstick in that pink shade I used to wear." she exclaimed.

Physically, I continued to swatch, but on the inside, my curiosty peaked. Pink Almost Lipstick? I had heard amazing things about the Black Honey one, but the shade wasn't exactly 'me'. A sheer, girly hue would was more up my alley.


"I'm sorry, but we discontinued all shades of the Almost Lipstick except for one: Black Honey. It suits all skin tones," he told her, "It looks good and different on every one!"

My Heart...and Complexion is Warmed with Clinique's Different Lipstick in Tender-Heart

On my quest for the perfect fall lip color, I came across this subtle hue of Clinique's Different Lipstick. Sheer yet buildable, Tender-Heart's perfect plum/brown shade warmed my heart as well as my complexion. Something about this lipstick morphed my pale face into a warm, glowing complexion. Sadly, the only nice quality of this lipstick is the shade. Tender-Heart lacks creaminess and long-lasting powder: two very important things when it comes to a great lipstick.

The Claim: Different because of its smooth, comfortable feel. Moderate coverage in a remarkable range of shades, from cream to pearl. Every one packed with rich emollients.

The Verdict: You could say it's comfortable, but NOT smooth. The colors are very sheer, but buildable. Rich emollients aren't detected at all. It just sits on your lips without moisturizing.

        A new take on a classic mascara meant to brighten eyes? Yep! I'm talking about Clinique's Limited Edition High Impact Mascara in Brightening Black ($14.50). I received a deluxe sample of this along with six other products in a Clinique Bonus back in August with Ann (not-justapretty-face.blogspot.com) I've been incorporating the mascara's signature hue into my beauty routine ever since. If I got a quarter for every time somebody told me that my lashes "looked blue" or that my eyes "appeared brighter", I would be rich. The best part? I'd still be rich after purchasing this mascara -- It costs so little!
